Thursday Thoughts

::Oh My::
.Things have changed recently.
.Stress has drastically increased.
.I'm feeling the pressure.
.We'll see how it plays out...

Here's the quick run down of what's going on

  1. My cooperating teacher left on maternity leave
  2. I am now a student teacher under the wing of a "sub"
  3. This "sub" hasn't been in a classroom in eight years
& has NEVER worked with the primary grades

It makes sense that I am gaining a little bit of weight & that I am craving sweets!! ; )
I needed to make myself laugh somehow, right?!
 ********

In the mean time, these words of wisdom will get me through

"Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths theater."

"It’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference."

See everything. Overlook a great deal. Improve a little.
-Pope John XXXIII

How do you get through stressful times?
xoxo

Goodness girl! I'm so sorry that you're being put in such a difficult situation when this is supposed to be a learning opportunity for you. It shouldn't be stressful, it should be fun! It sounds like you're making the most of it though and I love how much you're looking out for your students. Especially with an inexperienced sub lurking around ;) I just pray that my daughter has a teacher or a student teacher as loving, caring, and attentive as you. You're changing lives, Erin! The kiddos probably don't realize the impact you have on their lives now, but I'm sure they'll want to thank you later.

Awww i hate stressful situations like this... but look at it this way... all you're stresses and the fact you have to practically do everything can only be a good thing in the long-run right, and also prepare you to be a fantastic teacher...

i really do believe you will come out the other side and may even be thankful for this situation =)

keep calm and carry on :P

WOW that would be stressful. Have you thought about bringing up the fact that if you leave it will cause even more disruption to the students lives, to your university? Personally (though I'm not involved with a teaching program or anything) that to me, would show a great deal of understanding of children and the care you have for what you do.
Over all I hope the sub can get a good grip on whats going on here, specially since you have to work with her for a whole semester (if you stay).
Best of luck.

Sorry to hear that you're stressing! I hope things get better :/. I know from friends that student teaching is always stressful! I hope you had a good bday too. Sorry I've been busy since I moved 250 miles! I plan to get on the blogging wagon again soon :) Jill
