Sunday Tag

Happy Sunday!
via
  Do you know the author Baily J, of the wonderful blog The Middle
If not, you should definitely check out her totally real, honest, and inspirational blog :)
I just KNOW you will love it.

Anyways, Bailey tagged me in a post and asked a couple questions.
I love to do little surveys and such so here it goes!

ONE
Why is your favorite color your favorite color?
Honestly. I had to think about this question for a bit. I don't really have a "favorite" color per-Se, but I really love black for my clothing color choice - and B&W have always been my favorite. why? well most definitely because it makes ever flaw you have that much less-noticeable. It doesn't hide all my trouble areas, but it sure makes me feel a tad better!

TWO
Have you ever been in trouble with the law?
Nope. nada.never.
Except my four speeding tickets.
Do those count? ;)

THREE
If you could go to one place in the entire world for one week, free of charge, where would you go?
FREE of charge! Oh gee. Anywhere, honestly. I just want to get out of the country and explore the world. There are many beautiful and unique places I would love to go to, but on my top priority list is Australia... (then Ireland & Poland).

FOUR
If you could take on person with you, who would it be?
To Australia, my boy of course! To Ireland and Poland, it would have to be my mom. We have talked about visiting together for quite some time now :)

FIVE
If there was one disease that you could cure (that doesn't already have one) what would it be and why?
First. I would love for people to find a cure for so many health conditions, especially invisible diseases, and also those that do not get a lot of attention.
Next, the THREE diseases/syndromes that I would LOVE a cure for are EDS, Lupus and Dysautonomia.

**my personal reasoning**

SIX
What is your guilty pleasure?
Trashy, stupid, pointless, but oh so entertaining reality television.
I do not know what I would do without my cherished DVR. It makes watching television shows that much easier and enjoyable.

SEVEN
What is your least favorite acronym?
Well, it's not really an acronym. I can't stand when I am texting my friends or when I receive emails that are written half-assed and just stupid. excuse my french. Okay, here is what I mean...
Scenario 1: Erin. Wutz ^? How r u 2day?  Not 2 Much here. g2g. Call me soon. L8er.
I don't know why it bothers me so much, but I just find that now-a-days people are so illiterate and take this casual writing into their daily work. Not acceptable.

EIGHT
Would you rather have 12 toes or a huge nose?
twelve toes. definitely. I can hide those easily, but a big nose? That is front and center! Anyways, my man has a rather large nose and if I too had a big on, that means my future little ones would be screwed for life. I don't think they would appreciate that. he-he :)

NINE
Who was your favorite Backstreet Boy?
First. Backstreet Boys were so much better than N'sync :)
To answer the question, Brian was my favorite!
Perfect fan was my favorite song...made me cry.

TEN
What is the one electronic device you wouldn't miss at all?
My DVD player. I never use it. I watch entirely too much television that there is no need for a DVD player. If I really want to, I will find it online or order it from my television service.

ELEVEN
If you wanna be my lover, do you got to get with my friends?
(love the spice-girls reference f.y.i)
YES! That's a major must.
friendship never ends.
ha-ha.

Does questions number SEVEN bother you too?

Tomorrow is a BIG day for me.
Stay tuned!

Versatile Blogger Award♥

It is crazy to say that in just a couple of months, I have met some pretty amazing people here in this blogging world. I was unsure about it at first, but am so glad that I stuck with it :)

My wonderful new friend Sarah, over at Sunlight After Rain gave me this award!
I just have to say that although I haven't known her for very long, I feel like it's been a lot longer! Our similarities are crazy and our love for Pinterest is quite the same. I am so thankful to have met a real, sincere, amazing friend via the blogging world :)

Now for my 5 facts ♥

O.N.E
I absolutely hate the heat.
I think I am one of the few people who don't like summer, but the heat is so hard on my body and breathing, that I hate it : /

T.W.O
I love college football :)
I also LOVE the College World Series (it is one of the best parts of summer!)
I have so many memories at the CWS, it's such an awesome time!!

T.H.R.E.E
I absolutely do not like the state of Texas, especially their sports teams.
For example: they are always disrespectful and rude when coming to the CWS.
**Note: I am not saying that I do not like the people from Texas**

F.O.U.R
As much as I complain, I actually love school and love to learn.
I am actually planning on going back right away to get my master degree :)

F.I.V.E
I always put other before myself. If there is anything I can do to help someone, I will do it.
**Please keep your eyes peeled towards the begninning of next week & save your pennies!**
I am working with fellow POTS/Dysautonomia friends to start an online auction to help out a couple who cannot afford health coverage anymore
(they are already in debt over $100,000 because of medical bills).

Wee Bit Wednesday

...because all the cool kids are doing it

I decided to link up with Leigh Ashley and participate :)

{1}
how many times have you been a bridesmaid/maid of honor?

Sadly, none. I want so badly to be in a wedding.
My family is so small & actually - I haven't even been to that many weddings in my lifetime

{2}
what’s the last thing your do before you fall asleep at night?

I have to set my sleep timer on my television
I sip on some herbal chamomile tea
&
usually have so many thoughts running through my mind, it's absolutely ridiculous.

{3}
you just won your dream vacation, all expenses paid. where are you going?

Ireland. I have always wanted to go - someday my dream will come true ♥

{4}
what is your favorite outdoor activity?

Does playing yard games count? :)
If not, going to a cabin and sitting around the fire is definitely one of my favorites!

{5}
as a child, what did you want to “be when you grew up”? did you end up there?

Oh boy. It is important to remember that I am the most indecisive person -
Even when I was little, my mind changed everyday.
Some of my top favorites were as followed:
nurse
teacher
doctor
therapist
**I ended up as an (almost) teacher**

{6}
 what are 3 things your dream home would have that you don’t currently have?
A window seat.
A computer room or "scrapbook room"
A house big enough to entertain friends :)

{7}
what’s for dinner tonight?

Well since I don't cook, it's nothing quite too appetizing...
Turkey sandwich
grapes
and some yogurt.
**how original, eh**

{8}
if someone stopped by your house unannounced on a typical Saturday night, what would they find you doing?
Laying around, working on homework with my feet up, while drinking some tea and watching multiple seasons of Gilmore Girls or catching up on all of my DVR'd shows - If not that, then I would definitely be spending time with my lovely boy ♥

{9}
what’s your average monthly water bill?

Well this is random. I live in a small apartment, so usually around $15.00?

{10}
what do you do to relax?

Love music♥
blogging :)
eating some comfort food
and socializing with my friends!

Stylish Blogger Award♥

I am very excited to say that Sarah over at Sunlight After Rain gave me the "Stylish Blogger Award"!
I think it's really fun & I'm happy to pass this along & participate!
(It' also good to find new, great blogs!)

This award requires you to name seven facts about yourself
Here are mine

.ONE.
 Well, I don't drink much pop, but when I do...
I absolutely hate "dark" pop - I will only drink clear pop
I also dislike the word soda & get in many arguments with people regarding the proper terminology!
It is "pop" not "soda" ; )

.TWO.
I absolutely love, love, LOVE to scrapbook!
I haven't been able to do much lately as I am really busy & it is awfully expensive - especially since I am really particular and anal. I can work on just one page for an hour to make sure it is perfect!

.THREE.
I cannot stand car salesmen. It is a complete turn-off. You can be the greatest guy in all the universe, but if you sell cars, it's a deal breaker for me.
(My dad that I have never met (he goes by shit head) was a car salesman, so I think that is why, too!)
**I sincerely apologize if this statement offends anyone**

.FOUR.
I have a major addiction to reality television. Now, I understand that most of it is scripted and not truly reality - but it is really fun watching others experience their own life (real or not!)

.FIVE.
I have way too many tee shirts than storage space for them in my one bedroom apartment. I also have a love for sweatpants. If I could, I think I would live in sweatpants : )

.SIX.
As weird as it sounds, I am kind of scared of commitment - maybe you can say I'm a "commito-phobe" or whatever, but I am such an independent person & love my me time : ) I have been with my boy for almost one, two, three, four, five, six, seven freakin long years - but making that final commitment scares me : /

.SEVEN.
Lastly, on a lighter note...semi-trucks scare the crap out of me!!!
When I drive by them, especially on the interstate I get nervous, shaky, and start to sweat. Those people who drive them huge momma's are usually over worked, tired and should not be driving half the time. With my little cheap car, they'd be sure to kill me!

Now I would like to pass this on to the following seven blogs : )

02 January 2011

::2011::

Happy New Year : )

The time has come... it's a new year, with new possibilities.
This past year has been full of memories and life changing events that I will never forget.

   In 2010...
*I became an alumni of Zeta Delta
*I became VP of SCEC (Student Council for Exceptional Children)
*I was diagnosed with Dysautonomia/POTS
*The last year of Roosenblatt Stadium!
*Moved into my amazing 1 bedroom apartment
*Conquered my fear of dentists at the begining of the year & got my wisdom teeth removed (which unfortunately lead me POTS) Sad how that works : /
*After loosing my job, seven months later I got a new job at a call center where I can sit. Not the best job but it's all I can do right now
*Taught my first lessons during some of my practicums
*And I wouldn't have made it through the hardest part of this year without the help and support of my amazing mother whom I love more than anything.

   In 2011...
*I will begin student teaching! (Let's hope my health holds up!)
*It will mark the last year of undergraduate classes at UNO
*Right now, my only goal is to successfully complete my first semester of student teaching! I've learned it's only appropriate to hope and accomplish one thing at a time
*Also- this year I am going to make an appoint to rely on my faith to get my through

Although this year towards the end was one of the most difficult times that I have had thus far in my life, I will only grow from all the experiences. POTS/Dysautonomia sucked a lot of things from me, but I believe that if you just try to stay positive and with the right therapies/medication and will, sometimes you can push yourself enough to enjoy little things that you like.

I lost my job - the job that I absolutely loved from being in the hospital and home bound for 4 months. I lost some friends for awhile, missed out on experiences and much more. However, when you are down looking out into life, you realize what is important in life. You start not taking the special simple things for granted and see the purpose in life. I believe that this illness has taught me a lot and will continue to only make me a stronger person.

I hope everyone has a happy/blessed 2011 year

xoxo
