Feeling Lucky?

March 30, 2012
It was a given. I had to join in the festivities. Everyone was doing it.
I've never purchased a one of these things, so I thought beginners luck could be in my favor.

With the grand prize skyrocketing up to 640 million dollars, I had to partake in the fun and take a chance in scoring big! Obviously, my chances are somewhere near the .01 percentile (or possibly lower) as statistics show your chances of getting hit by lightning are much greater!
(...6x before you win a lottery ticket to be exact)

One dollar?
I can burn a dollar if I don't win. Plus, what if I did win... what if. I couldn't take that chance of NOT buying one. Plus, all news stations made this such a big deal, it was fun to participate!

Off to Bucky's I go
(our gas station)
The line was pretty big! About 15 people lined up (just in that short period I was there) to get their chance of becoming rich. People were purchasing 20, 30, even hundreds of tickets to get their shot in the big ol' lottery. I just wanted my one lousy ticket :)

So what's better?
 Personal numbers you pick that mean something to you/that you deem to be "lucky"
or
 QP (quick-pick) a random select of computer generated numbers
...I went with the latter.
My philosophy was simple. If it's meant to be, it's mean to be.
Plus, if I would have picked the numbers, I would of regretted choosing each and every one of them if I would have lost (which I knew I would, so hence my choice).

The final product
With a kiss after it was printed for good luck, here was my lucky charm.
Only, it wasn't so lucky.
...Not even one number
: /

So I didn't win, but it was fun to wish and dream about what it COULD have been like to come into contact with that much money.

It was quite difficult to come up with things I would have done.

------------------

Here is my "top 10 wish list" if I would have won

1. Get rid of student loans. Pay those suckers off.
2. Pay off family members debt and bills and share some of the winnings
3. Purchase a house. Nothing huge, but a nice living space with washer and dryer on the main floor and a scrapbook craft room. That is my biggest wish.
4. Purchase some much needed new clothes and shoes!
5. Travel to Ireland (with mom) and Australia (with the man)
6. Donate to the Lupus foundation, Dysautonomia Research, and the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Foundation. All of these are so important to me as my mom and I share these conditions.
7. Start my own charity.
8. Create my own scholarship fund for those who are well rounded and active in their community (NOT focused on G.P.A) and for those who are disabled or struggle with their health trying to get accepted or make it in college.
9. Buy an iPad.
10. Have a fabulous, fun wedding and honeymoon : )

Hey, a girl can dream!
What would YOU have done with the money?

Reasons To Smile

I decided to think about all the reasons I have to smile
I went around my apartment and this is what I found...

{1}

My dear little possessive boy, who doesn't like anyone except me.

I'm like a proud momma with her kids
(God, what am I going to be like when I do have kids...)
Anyways...
Isn't he just precious?

{2}

"I love you" text messages ♥
I love getting random love notes : )
...who doesn't!

{3}

My oh so treasured Keurig maker!

It can make anything from coffee to tea to hot chocolate & MORE!
I use it absolutely every day : )

{4}

Self explanatory...

The pure fact that it is spring break is definitely something to be happy about!
Yes, it's not in my house but the "feeling" sure is♥

{5}

My comfy house boots : )

No matter the weather, I wear these little guys all the time
My feet are always cold and they feel so nice, too!

{6}

Getting Mail!

I have an amazing aunt who sends me cards almost weekly
She knows I have a lot of "bad" days and these fun cards always cheer me up!
: )

What are some little things that make YOU smile?

It's a Beautiful Day!

Top Five Reasons Why Today is "A Beautiful Day"

It's my Grandma's 90th birthday! A blessing that she is happy and healthy : )
I left her some cupcakes, flowers & this cute balloon on her doorstep
(she was out attending her organ class and out to eat with her girlfriends...when she got home I called and asked her how she liked her surprise. She said she really loved the flowers and the balloon was cute. When I asked how she liked the cupcakes, she said "what cupcakes??" I said, "grandma the cupcakes in the box!" her response "oh, I threw that box away, I thought it was just keeping the balloon up!" Ohhh Grandma! : )

The temperature was 57 degrees! Spring is on it's way!!

I started Chiropractic care and it's off to a great start!
 (This is some equipment that was used on my nerve scan)

My car troubles totaling over $350 are now covered by my warranty! Whew!

...and just positivity floating in the air

    ::2011::

    Happy New Year : )

    The time has come... it's a new year, with new possibilities.
    This past year has been full of memories and life changing events that I will never forget.

       In 2010...
    *I became an alumni of Zeta Delta
    *I became VP of SCEC (Student Council for Exceptional Children)
    *I was diagnosed with Dysautonomia/POTS
    *The last year of Roosenblatt Stadium!
    *Moved into my amazing 1 bedroom apartment
    *Conquered my fear of dentists at the begining of the year & got my wisdom teeth removed (which unfortunately lead me POTS) Sad how that works : /
    *After loosing my job, seven months later I got a new job at a call center where I can sit. Not the best job but it's all I can do right now
    *Taught my first lessons during some of my practicums
    *And I wouldn't have made it through the hardest part of this year without the help and support of my amazing mother whom I love more than anything.

       In 2011...
    *I will begin student teaching! (Let's hope my health holds up!)
    *It will mark the last year of undergraduate classes at UNO
    *Right now, my only goal is to successfully complete my first semester of student teaching! I've learned it's only appropriate to hope and accomplish one thing at a time
    *Also- this year I am going to make an appoint to rely on my faith to get my through

    Although this year towards the end was one of the most difficult times that I have had thus far in my life, I will only grow from all the experiences. POTS/Dysautonomia sucked a lot of things from me, but I believe that if you just try to stay positive and with the right therapies/medication and will, sometimes you can push yourself enough to enjoy little things that you like.

    I lost my job - the job that I absolutely loved from being in the hospital and home bound for 4 months. I lost some friends for awhile, missed out on experiences and much more. However, when you are down looking out into life, you realize what is important in life. You start not taking the special simple things for granted and see the purpose in life. I believe that this illness has taught me a lot and will continue to only make me a stronger person.

    I hope everyone has a happy/blessed 2011 year

    xoxo
