While computers are wonderful, typing is great and all, and emails are super speedy and handy, the written word is something that I have always loved.
Do you remember when Pen-Pals used to be the "cool thing" to do?
How about passing notes in class or during the passing periods...
I absolutely loved love writing letters to my friends and jazzing them all up :)
**********
I stopped home this weekend to pick up a few things, and pondered across some material that was stashed away in my little old dusty closet. As I was rummaging through them, memories began to flood my mind and I thought I would share them with you
(Keep in mind, I kept everything!)
...who am I kidding, I still keep everything)
{This is an old shoe box CHUCK FULL of notes from grade school and high school}
{Here is a closer look at some of them...}
{This was such a popular way to fold the note, "football style"}
{Here is a stupid, pointless, but yet cute note from grade school}
Nothing special is written in the note, but funny things like "I will sit next to you at lunch" and "Ahhh I am very bored" - We also used code names because if any of our notes were to be seen by teachers, we would have received a "demerit"!
If you notice, my name at the time was "Koo".
Why? I have absolutely no idea! ha
{Here is yet another box piled full of more memories}
This box is purely from high school and mixed special cards, movie stubs, and things from my man :)
These are just two little cards that were attached to flowers/fun gifts from my my boy on random occasions.
One fact about me: I do not like receiving flowers on the "typical holidays". To me, it's overdone and doesn't have as much meaning as the spontaneity of true love <3
I will post about our story sometime in the near future!
We have been dating for almost seven years.
I know, right?!
He always does cute things like this :)
...and I ALWAYS keep them!
--------------------------------------
Even though I am almost finished with college, I still love sending and receiving letters/cards/etc.
Here is a lovely letter that I received from a dear friend, Brooke, whom I met via the lovely internet!
We both have a bond due to a chronic illness, and she came up with this brilliant idea. A couple of us "sickies" exchanged mailing addressed and send each other mail on random occasions!
She is so sweet! Check out her fabulous blog here
Do any of you still write letters or remember exchanging notes in school?
I hope I'm not the only hoarder who keeps everything :)

i was soooo like you when i was younger! i loved writing letters to my friends, even if we saw each other every day! hahah i kept most of my letters up until college. i realized that i'm not a pack rat, but i will always love and cherish all the letters i received and those i wrote to others. even though i am a professional texter (haha) i still love getting phone calls and sending random cards to people in the mail.
I love writing letters, Erin! And I'm so glad we are pen pals! :)
Hey girly!
first off, no, you are not the only hoarder. If unpacking taught me anything it was that I need to acutally bone up and throw some stuff out or I'm going to end up on TLC like the rest of the crazies! I've spent the last little bit "catching up" on your life *sigh* sorry I've been MIA and a horrible bloggy friend! If you ever want another pen pal let me know! I love writing letters :) x

Lol Erin I saved all my notes from middle and high school! Two small rubbermaid containers full! :) A few months ago I reread a lot of them and the blast from the past was a lot of fun! Don't think I can ever convince myself to stop being a note hoarder, haha.
This is so sweet! I wish I kept all my messages and pen pal letters! I would have a few stored up!
I hope you have a lovely weekend. :)
xx
